Thomas Dishaw is the driving force behind Artist Deserved, bringing a deep passion for hip-hop and a keen understanding of the music industry’s inner workings. Growing up in Michigan, Thomas was heavily influenced by the sounds of Public Enemy, 2Pac, Dead Prez, and a myriad of Detroit rap legends. His love for hip-hop fueled his journey into writing, where he got his first big break with a viral article about Detroit rapper, Street Lord Juan.

Thomas’s relationship with Juan led to a series of high-profile interviews with major hip-hop artists like Tee Grizzley, Baby Face Ray, Icewear Vezzo, and Royce Da 5’9 for Juan’s imprint, Street Lord Radio. This period of intense immersion in the Detroit hip-hop scene, particularly during his years at Heaven Studios, allowed Thomas to collaborate with countless artists and gain invaluable insights into the industry’s challenges.

It was here that Thomas identified a pervasive problem: many artists were missing out on significant revenue opportunities and were often exploited by labels, managers, and companies. This realization ignited his mission to create Artist Deserved, a platform dedicated to empowering musicians by teaching them how to monetize their fanbase effectively and reclaim their rightful earnings.

With his extensive background in hip-hop and firsthand experience of the industry’s pitfalls, Thomas Dishaw is committed to ensuring that artists are equipped with the knowledge and tools to thrive financially.
